Fashionable growth for Commerical Photographers

Prodoto - Specialist in commercial product photographyA focus on fashion has turned a vibrant commercial photography business into a market leader in less than five years.

From humble beginnings in a converted chicken shed Prodoto has seen huge growth and is now one of the country’s largest studios for commercial photographers.

As specialists in both still life and model fashion shoots, 70 per cent of the images created by Prodoto Photographic Studios are for the rag trade.

As the business prepares to celebrate its fifth birthday its founder William Lack says: “Having a great team of fashion photographers, commercial photographers and food photographers has meant that what was a pipe dream of working with top clients such as Marks & Spencer, Amazon, Timberland and Toyota has become a reality.”

50.000 images a year for worldwide clients

In the early days Will, a product photographer, worked on his own in cramped conditions.  Since then Prodoto has grown 40 per cent year on year and has moved into a large premises with 12,000 sq ft of studio space. Will now employs 24 staff and enjoys the camaraderie.

From its studios in the quaint town of Hebden Bridge, between Leeds and Manchester, 50,000 images a year are styled and shot for clients across the world.

The team of fashion photographers pride themselves on their wide range of styling options. Garments can be photographed on mannequins, hangers or styled flat, with added focus on brand identity such as logos or labels. For an extra twist the pictures can be animated to produce 360 degree images.

Alternatively some clients chose to use models to show off their latest collections transforming the studios into fashion catwalks.

As well as fashion shoots this dynamic company’s portfolio also includes a broad range of food and product photography creating packshots and lifestyle images ideal for websites, brochures and advertising material.

Founded by professional photographer

Will’s passion for quality photography is fundamental to the business. He was first given a camera as a young boy and fondly remembers setting up still life scenes at home to photograph. It led to a Media Studies degree at Manchester University and then work as a freelance press photographer.

After years on the road capturing news events Will decided he wanted to use his photographic and lighting skills to create high-end studio images.

He says: “I wanted to enjoy going to work. I love the vibe and the drama of it all. I started Prodoto because I wanted to build a business my children would be proud of.”

Efficient, hassle free and high quality service

The staff at Prodoto have both the technical ability and the studio space to tackle a wide range of photographic projects. They can construct large room sets, take delivery of bulk orders and work on several shoots a day.

Will  puts the success of his business down to both the skill of his photographic and post production teams as well as the company’s modern ethos. From booking into the studio to the finishing touches Prodoto aims to give its clients a service that is efficient, hassle free and high quality.

Simply super CMS

We’ve spent the past couple of months making a huge update to the DDME content management system. The whole system has been converted to AJAX, which has made the system even quicker and more responsive.

The biggest visual changes are the updates to the navigation. You can now have multiple sections open at the same time, which makes switching between pages simple. The navigation also stays open at exactly where you want it, even if you refresh the page.

First to start using the updated CMS are Concateno, who are working on new website content. We’ve not had one request from anyone in the team, regarding using the system. So even though there’s a lot of new technology, we’ve kept the usability foremost!

Our next step is to develop an upgrade path for our existing content management system, then we can roll-out the new CMS to all our clients.

Concateno Scandinavia

Concateno ScandinaviaThe Concateno Scandinavia site has now been updated with the latest Concateno online styling.

It’s always a good test of design adaptability when you switch to a language which is almost double the length of the english. Other than writing new content for specific areas, the existing content has dropped into place very nicely.

Working on international sites can get a bit confusing, so Google Translate has been invaluable!
